depending on your jungler and your adc pick between shell, horrific, or sprint but keep in mind that this i purely if you are 100% sure you can play for your teammates benefit for the first five-ish minutes before you begin to rotate to mid and team fights other wise consider buying beads
honestly if your going for a traditional team comp in duo good luck and it helps you out alot if done well but as far as first relic if your adc plans on getting frenzy himself either now or at lvl 12 i would go for sprint or horrific either depending on what they say or if you know the adc is a bit too aggressive in their play style then get sprint but if you two have really good chemistry then get horrific for those good team ganks or duo lane pushes where you wanna secure a kill or are just looking to bully but otherwise frenzy brings that extra somthin thats useful in alot of situations and if you are either new to support new to fafnir or just have a poor relationship with ur adc and wanna stay in the fight sustain early or just worry about yourself get beads when going against hard cc or just alot of soft cc and get shell if you plan to tower dive or foresee an unlikely to win gank/team fight
with mages you may end up being left as the only one in duo either due to them backing or them dying with that said shell is nice and beads is also something to think of with a high damage mage like agni in lane if they are willing to die for kills look into frenzy if you are one of the unfortunate souls stuck with a mana hungry god to look after think about med but otherwise i would personally stray away from it and on the other hand if you are with someone whos only issues is not getting out alive just barly get shell they will thank you later or maybe just blame you for throwing cause as a support your 2 or 3 lvls down with all the assists and no kills
by this point you should have either began rotating outa lane or accepted the sad fate of being stuck in lane whatever the case you nine times outta ten have finished blue boot and began of valor as a support in s7 valor is the thing you put in every build the cooldown and protection will keep you useful and as far as shield of regrowth i guess its not required but it is definitely a star player in any fafnir build all you need to do is use your two mindlessly all game and boom you keep up with if not out run almost any assassin not to mention free health cooldown reduction along with HP5 and MP5 also as a little nice teammate thing use that extra gold u got on wards
after valor u will have the basics of whats need for this short king and now you must look to be annoying against those you call a foe for this you have a bit to think about such as anti heal if going against a physical god with lifesteal or heal get contagion if going against magical gods with lifesteal or heal get pestilence but say you want more power or you are the frontliner and are in their faces the whole game grab divine ruin and say you want more anti heal or just simply dont want to waste an item slot pick yourself up a cursed ankh and upgrade that when you can for more damage but if antiheal aint what u need and it cc thats the issue well stop crying cause i got u there too looking to get out a hard cc but dont have beads or they are in cooldown all the time well guess what magis cloak is a thing and its amazing but say you have extra gold and you want to not only get out but also punish them how about trying on mantle of discord but if those dont tickle your fancy we still got stone of gaia be more tanky heal yourself and just look to bate out any and all cc they have and are hunters or assassins giving you a hard time do they just focus you and still melt your life away guess what they have crit well with spectral armor they have half all crit done to you maybe its not crit but its attackspeed and true damage ever heard of witchblade cause it slaps not only do they do 20% less atackspeed but you do 20% more and you have 250 extra hp 10% more cooldown and 7% more movement speed but say after all that you still fall flat just use their own power against them with nemean lion or flat out say no to physical gods and buy sovereignty point is counter and know how to with what and when
if you have managed to get to the point were you have empty item slots and want some power well look no further then to these bad bois e staff is great with more health 90 power and ccr along side a passive were u steal the targets mana and health for 45s while allowing the possibility of multiple debuffs to be put on that foe of yours is awesome but say thats not the scratch to tickle ur itch well how about gem of iso giving nearly the same base stats as e staff but with a passive slowing the opponent by 20% for a sec but wait i need more anti heal if you didn't already get divine ruin for power and anti heal and if u wanna be borderline pushing the idea of tanking with power mystical mail is an ok item looking to counter another tank go for it with obsidian shard decent power and amazing pen say you dont want to dish out alot but allow ur team to do that while you stand and look like the pretty dragon u are well honey do i have the thing for u void stone aura that hurts those bad guys protection give u sum power and health whilst also giving protections
ok so alot of what will be said here is if you havent already got this or are in a very specific position but lets say u want a little power you want to set up for stuns while rendering alot of the other sides gods useless for a quick sec and cooldown sounds nice you should get ancil especially when going against a magic heavy team and alongside magic heavy teams genjis is a personal fav of mine bringing protection health mp5 and a metric ton of cooldown i love it bulwork of hope although can be used and might be useful i personally have used it maybe 3 times so just be aware of the 60s recharge it has and what you would be trading out for it as far as renewal is concerned if you plan on team fights and late game tower lane pushes go for it outside of that buy at your own risk now on the other hand midgardian is almost applicable at any point in the game giving you health and the ability to just make any hunter really cry or be relatively trash in a team fight this beast of an item is worth it 8 or 9 times out of 10 say you just want to mitigate well if team fight are what you live and die for oni hunters garb is ur next 12 year long marriage but say your not ready to commit to that long term love life cause you think they still have feeling for a 6s stunning ice giant friend of yours well just hold hands for now and cuddle up in that brand new spirit robe of yours
